For those who have never experienced an Adi Fest you are in for a treat. There is never a dull moment from partying likes its 1999 or 89 or 79 it’s a true journey through rock.

To revel in the special occasion there will be a Stevie Nicks & Mick Fleetwood Costume Contest following their performance atBeauty Bar at 10:30. Contestants should be there by 9:30 to enter into the contest.

Providence, Rhode Island – The first installment of the epic four part Grand Strategy EP series features 5 elegantly crafted tracks by veteran sound master <tfo>. Timothy O’Keefe, the creative genius behind <tfo>, combines intricately programmed beats, beautifully sculpted synths, meticulously arranged instrumentation, and evocative vocal melodies. Simply put, it is good music.

Grand Strategy I, with key tracks Tame and Change, blends indie, electronic, and melodic retro pop sounds to create pop without the cliché, dance without the repetition, and retro without the novelty. Tame, a dark, danceable, electronic pop track is a throwback to earlier electronic pop artists like New Order and Depeche Mode. Change mixes electronic and folk music motifs, giving a taste of the synthesis for which <tfo> has earned notoriety.

Austin purists, Soul Track Mind incubated their songs in the low-slung East-side TC’s Lounge, cultivating a raging Wednesday night scene until the dance floor literally caved in.  The band are astute preservationists of 60’s and 70’s soul, resurrecting the groove with blue-skies melodies and haunting slow-dance croons on debut LP “Ghost of Soul,” out August 17.

Over the last two years, whirlwind front man Donovan Keith and the dapper disciples of Soul Track Mind have become synonymous with raucously entertaining live shows.  From house parties to the home of the blues, Antone’s Nightclub, Keith stirs crowds to frenzy, begging the question “Has James Brown returned in the form of this maniacal redhead?” (Examiner). Performer Magazine raves “[he] proves that white boys do have soul…with his unbridled enthusiasm and dance moves.”

To capture this frenetic live energy on Ghost of Soul, the band enlisted the help legendary producer-engineer Stuart Sullivan who also bestowed his golden touch on seminal releases from Pinetop Perkins and WC Clark to Eric Johnson and Sublime.

Celebrate this instant classic with the Soul Track Mind in-store performance at Waterloo Records on Wednesday, August 18.  Afterwards, cruise down South Lamer to an exclusive listening party at downSTAIRS Apparel and Aviary Lounge as part of their WINE.down Wednesday.

The main course is “Chicken & Waffles,” a special LP release party at ND @ 501 Studios on August 20.  Trailer stars Lucky J’s will be serving their signature dish while the Sanctuary Printshop prints special Soul Track Mind shirts out of their infamous El Camino.

Bounce music is an energetic style of New Orleans hip hop music which is said to have originated as early as the late 1980s, but is typically believed to have begun with the 1991 single “Where Dey At” by MC T.Tucker and DJ Irv. Check out the trailer for the film Ya Heard Me

Bounce is characterized by call and response style party and Mardi Gras Indian chants and dance call-outs that are frequently hypersexual. These chants and call-outs are typically sung over the “Triggerman beat“, which is sampled from the song “Drag Rap” by the Showboys, or “Brown beat” by Cameron Paul, and also Derek B’s “Rock The Beat”.
