Video: MGMT – “All We Ever Wanted Was Everything” (Bauhaus cover)

MGMT recently released a compilation CD entitled LateNightTales featured songs that best describe their sound. The psychedelic rockers selected tracks from such artists as The Velvet Underground,  Suicide, and Disco Inferno. MGMT did record one song on the album which happened to be a cover of a song by English goth band Bauhaus who formed in the late 70′s. The Connecticut duo, made up of Andrew Van Wyngarden and Ben Goldwasser, recently used pop up animation to visualize the song ‘All We Ever Wanted Was Everything’. MGMT’s cover of the song is just as beautiful as the original and the visuals don’t disappoint either. Van Wyngarden and Goldwasser are currently in the studio recording a self-titled album that is set to release in 2012 on Columbia Records. I can’t wait to see what they have for us next. In the meantime, check on the video for ‘All We Ever Wanted Was Everything’.
