The Los Angeles native stepped onto the music scene in 2008 with his mixtape release, “The 25th Hour.” The mixtape showed the southern California music scene that Dom Kennedy was serious about his music and wasn’t going anywhere fast. Representing Leimert Park, California, Dom Kennedy went back into the studio and began working on a follow up mixtape titled “Future Sex/Drug Sounds.” That mixtape landed Dom Kennedy on many major music blogs and in thousands of hip hop iPods. The “Future Sex/Drug Sounds” mixtape was even placed on Get Right Music’s “Top 10 Mixtapes of 2009″ list. Dom wasn’t stopping at just that, continuing on to land many major tour dates and guest appearances in the industry. Most recently, Dom released a new mixtape in 2010 titled “From The Westside With Love.” Dom Kennedy has already released 2 music videos from the mixtape for the songs “Locals Only” and “1997.” Dom Kennedy is a rapidly maturing rap artist that should be kept watch on. The buzz he has been able to create via his free mixtape releases, music videos and concerts only continues to grow. He just dropped “From The Westside With Love II”. Download them all here.
