As if an EP and a 7″ in 2010 weren’t enough, San Francisco newcomer Blackbird Blackbird has just released his debut LP entitled ‘Summer Heart’ (available for digital download only), an impressive 18 track collection that ranges from uplifting to melancholy to meditative, all through an assortment of fluttering synth lines and echo-saturated vocals. A little less dancy and a lot more cerebral, fans of Toro Y Moi or Neon Indian will be giddy to explore this fresh take on the newly forged landscape of ‘chillwave’ (or dreampop, whatever you want to call it). Sit back, turn it up, and try not to get too dizzy.
