Before you even start to watch “The Suburbs” you should know two things, one is that this is a beautiful song, and the second thing you should know is that the video was directed by Spike Jonze, so that should explain a lot. This “short film” gives a very peaceful and playful start, with kids being kids, having fun, roaming around being curious, and just doing dumb things around town, but it then transforms to something totally dark, weird, different and science fictional like at the end. It can be a tad too much to take in for some people, but if you can look past the odd and some what uncanny things that go on, then you’re set. Enjoy, hood on smash.
(P.S apparently it was shot in a suburb in Austin. If it’s your hood holla!)
