So now that New Year’s Eve and Free Week is out of your system, come kick it with us at Emo’s for our first show of 2010 with 101x’s Homegrown Live Series. Melting faces on stage will be San Marcos rockers Zlam Dunk. If you remember them from our in store concert at Tripp’s Custom Tees then you may recall they were the only band to have the cops called on us. It was totally worth it because they melted faces in a very intense and fun performance.
That isn’t all as we have teamed them up with electro bangers Fresh Millions, The Couch and CUSTODIAN. Fresh Millions were kind enough to host our Crumple Blunder NYE party at their house and to put icing on the cake they will be rolling with members of the SWORD!!! Austin Powell said it best when he wrote: “Fresh Millions brings peanut butter, jelly, and a baseball bat.”
Add another San Marcos group The Couch who have very quickly become a buzz band in Austin with a deceptively entertaining live show. We’ve heard they have a deliberate groove reminiscent of The White Stripes. Their sets feature original works in which each member of the band influences their own particular piece. The result is a style of music that has quite a large following locally.
CUSTODIAN, is the exciting new project from former Single Frame frontman Adreon Henry. Henry along with his partner Jay Bradley have created an EP that re-purposes samples from Laurie Anderson, The Blow, The Fat Boys, Klymaxx and many more into a canvas for old-school blue-collar raps to lay atop. This band also offers up one of the most creative packaging ideas, releasing their EP with janitorial soap sponge box and include steel wool scouring pads impregnated with soap.
If that wasn’t enough for you, Goodie Mob will be performing in the big room (sold out) so in between rocking your ass off, you can sit in the courtyard and catch Cee-Lo and the gang create a real Dirty South night.

They’ve been on a hot streak with the cops lately. I think the cops just want an excuse to party. Last time SMPD was called they just hung out until the set was over.
